Socket your 40 pin QFN packages without significant performance loss and with minimal increase in PC Board footprint
BURNSVILLE, MN - May, 2007 - Ironwood Electronics has recently introduced a new high performance QFN socket for 0.4mm pitch QFN 40 pin IC's. The DG-QFN40C-01 socket is designed for a 5X5mm package size and operates at bandwidths up to 40 GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. The socket is designed to dissipate up to several watts without extra heat sinking and can handle up to 100 watts with custom heat sink. The contact resistance is typically 3 milliohms per pin. The socket connects all pins and the optional center power pad with 40+ GHz bandwidth on all connections.
The DG-QFN40C-01 is constructed with high performance and low inductance Exatron diamond particle interconnect contactor. Contactor is capable of 100,000 insertions. The temperature range is -70°C to +200°C. The pin inductance and Capacitance to ground both approach zero.
Pricing for the DG-QFN40C-01 is $792 at qty 1; with reduced pricing available depending on quantity required.
